Artist’s Statement
I am interested in recording the elegance and emotion of light. The lighting in a scene is just as important as the subject matter, and in some cases can be the subject matter.
Nature is a large part of my work, but I am also fascinated with man-made structures in nature, such as the century-old barn, the steel truss of a bridge spanning the Delaware, or a simple Hunterdon County farm gate. The juxtaposition of these objects in nature create a wonderfully harmonious contrast.
